Address the Aftermath

Some changes in life can change everything else.

If you’ve been injured, your relationships may change. You may not be able to work in the same way. You may need to change where and how you live. All these changes can alter how you feel about yourself.

It also means that you’ll need to seek out new types of services and benefits. You will end up working with professionals who you haven’t worked with before, such as lawyers and therapists. Learning how to manage and get what you need from these new relationships is often a real challenge.

Here are some questions you should be asking:

  • What things in my life are about to change?

  • How will my injury change my family and friendships?

  • Who should I rely on for support and advice?

  • Will I be able to work as I once did?

  • What steps should I take to protect myself personally?

  • What steps should I take to protect myself financially?

  • How do I choose the right lawyer?

  • What can I expect from my lawyer?

  • Should I seek counseling?

  • How do I choose the right therapist?

  • Would therapy actually help me?

In the NextPhase Community we discuss how to answer these questions. There’s no one answer for everyone – but there is an answer for you. Become a Member for free. Benefit more as an Advanced Member.
