Plan for Your Family

Before your injury, you were likely providing your family with money or care. Whether you were the primary breadwinner, or you ran the household, your injury may have changed that. Your settlement will make up for that to some extent, but it might not be enough. A tight budget makes planning critical.

Maximizing government benefits, reducing taxes, and budgeting will all help to stretch your settlement farther.

Trusts, financial planning, and estate planning often stretches it even more. And it’s not just about money. Arranging for physical and emotional support can make all the difference. We can help.

Here are some questions you should be asking:

  • How do I keep more of my money?

  • What should I do now for my family’s future?

  • How can I know now what we’ll need long-term?

  • How do I know if my recovery will be enough?

  • Will my family’s care for me affect their work?

  • How much do I need to save for my children’s education?

  • Should I have a Health Saving Account?

  • How do I handle friends and family asking for money?

  • How can I maximize what I pass down to my children?

  • How do I know if an advisor is advising me well?

  • What does a good family financial plan look like?

In the NextPhase Community we discuss how to answer these questions. There’s no one answer for everyone – but there is an answer for you. Become a Member for free. Benefit more as an Advanced Member.
